How to Apply for a TESOL Course
Step 1
To begin the admission process for iTTi Monterrey, you must first choose your starting date, complete the online application form, and pay a deposit of USD $500.
Step 2
An iTTi enrollment counselor will contact you with details to complete the English proficiency test if you are not a native speaker. You must reach level B2/C1 to qualify.
Step 3
After you receive your official acceptance to iTTi Monterrey, your remaining tuition payment must be made 30 days before your selected start date.

There is a large student lounge area with tables, chairs, TVs, a refrigerator, a microwave oven, and a modern coffee machine that provides for different types of coffee all day for free.

Besides covering the theory a teacher needs to know, our trainees teach actual ESL students daily over a period of three weeks. They are from Algeria, Brazil, and Colombia. Teaching practice with students of different proficiency levels (beginning, intermediate, and advanced learners) is followed by immediate feedback and evaluation as well as additional review of theory or teaching techniques to improve our trainees’ performance.

The requirements for teachers in the United States really vary based on where you are trying to teach. For positions in private language schools, in community centers, or as a private tutor, you generally need a bachelor’s degree and a 120-Hour TEFL Certificate. Six months of teaching experience will make you a top candidate. The pay rate for these jobs is between $25 and $35 per hour. Hiring time is all year around.For teaching positions in the public schools, you will need at least a bachelor’s degree in English. A 120-Hour TEFL Certificate with Teaching Practicum will give you the practical experience they seek. In addition, you need a teaching license. We can help you become familiar with the license testing and provide you with samples to prepare for that. Such entry-level positions pay approximately $58,000 in New York.
If you want a senior position, such as coordinator, director, or program developer, your employer will probably require a master’s degree in TESOL, Applied Linguistics, or any related field in addition to the TEFL certificate. You will probably also need a master’s degree to teach at a university or community college in the U.S. Such jobs pay $66,000 and up.
If you want to work abroad–somewhere close to home–but you don’t have any teaching experience or advanced degrees, you might consider taking a teaching job in Mexico – you won’t need as many qualifications, and you’ll be able to get a good job with your TEFL certificate easily.And finally, if you want to teach English online, talk to us.
