What can be said about New York that you don’t already know?

“ There is something in the New York air that makes sleep useless ...”

Hydra is one of Algiers most beautiful neighbourhoods. A highly sought after area due to it’s strategically central location.Streets here are lined with an eclectic mix of beautifully restored colonial villas and modern buildings. Some now home to the Country’s elite and Foreign Embassies

A wonderful range of restaurants, chique hotels and boutiques can be found on the Boulevard of Sidi Yahia, a very pleasant corner of the Hydra area referred to jokingly by some as “the Beverly Hills of Algiers”. The oldest part of town is Le Chateau D’Hydra or Bordj Hydra which dates back to the XVIIIe

Hydra is situated just 2 km from the city centre and If you decide to walk , then this scenic route will take you right past le Palais du Peuple, where the President resides, through the bustling High street and all the way to “La Grande Poste” right at the centre of town. A beautifully restored building dating back to 1910, still operating as a fully functional post office today.

You can drive up to the Old Basilica ‘ Le Sacré Coeur’, and enjoy the amazing view over the bay of Algiers. Any Yasser driver ( Our local Uber service ) will be happy to take you there. Or book yourself onto a guided tour of La Casbah, Algiers oldest neigbourhood. Visit it’s museums and wander down its cobbled streets. This beautiful part of town is classed as a Unesco World Heritage site.
Hydra is also the perfect location from which to venture out and visit other famous sites in Algeria such as the Roman Ruins of Tipasa, an old fishing town just outside Algiers. We cannot talk about Hydra and Algiers without mentioning its people. Les Algerois, citizens of Algiers ( much like all Algerians) are famous for their hospitality and never happier than when they can share their local culture and customs with you!

WORK IN Hydra-Algiers AS A TEFL

The requirements for teachers in the United States really vary based on where you are trying to teach. For positions in private language schools, in community centers, or as a private tutor, you generally need a bachelor’s degree and a 120-Hour TEFL Certificate. Six months of teaching experience will make you a top candidate. The pay rate for these jobs is between $25 and $35 per hour. Hiring time is all year around.

For teaching positions in the public schools, you will need at least a bachelor’s degree in English. A 120-Hour TEFL Certificate with Teaching Practicum will give you the practical experience they seek. In addition, you need a teaching license. We can help you become familiar with the license testing and provide you with samples to prepare for that. Such entry-level positions pay approximately $58,000 in New York.

If you want a senior position, such as coordinator, director, or program developer, your employer will probably require a master’s degree in TESOL, Applied Linguistics, or any related field in addition to the TEFL certificate. You will probably also need a master’s degree to teach at a university or community college in the U.S. Such jobs pay $66,000 and up.

If you want to work abroad–somewhere close to home–but you don’t have any teaching experience or advanced degrees, you might consider taking a teaching job in Mexico – you won’t need as many qualifications, and you’ll be able to get a good job with your TEFL certificate easily.

And finally, if you want to teach English online, talk to us. We may be able to help you with an entire school ready to go including fully prepared English classes and a TOEFL test preparation program. All you need is students, and our marketing support team will help you find them.
